Welcome to La Grange de la Batone, an old farmhouse of the 18th century renovated with passion and located in the heart of a small village called Messimy-Sur-Saône.
We welcome you 30 km north of Lyon for a one-day break, a weekend getaway to visit the region, or for a family or professional event. The cottage is located between Beaujolais and Dombes, near vineyards, castles and ponds. Access is very easy from the A6 highway (10 min by car).
On site .... Lulled by the singing of birds or of our hens, you will enjoy the terraces, the shared pool, the large garden, the orchard, the henhouse ... and relax in the shade of the giant cedar while savoring the calm !
In the courtyard or in the garden, according to your wish !
The river Saône flows at 700 m from the Grange... Beautiful walks on the towpaths for an escape without taking the car. There is a lot of possible escapes in the region for all tastes : Culture, gastronomy, sports….
There is no shortage of cultural, gastronomic and sporting activities in the region to suit all tastes!
The cottage is composed of two rooms where we can accommodate up to 8 people.

which can accommodate up to 4 people each.
On the ground floor: A large convivial space including a living room, a large farm table, an open kitchen, sanitary facilities and the little extra: a mini stage for artist friends !

Go on a getaway in the vineyards of Beaujolais and its golden-stone villages just 20 minutes from the cottage.
At only 17 km, Le Hameau du vin, impressive museum of wine crafts, is a must for the real amateurs of great wines or for simple onlookers.
The Fléchères Castle
Majestic mansions are lining up along the left bank of the river Saône on its way to Lyon…. The most beautiful one is undoubtedly the Fléchères Castle, magnificent castle of the 17th century that is awaiting your visit, just 5 minutes from the cottage.
The medieval town of Châtillon-sur-Chalaronne
This is a spectacular and famous 17th century covered market where a picturesque and colorful market takes place every Saturday morning, throughout the city center. Châtillon-sur-Chalaronne is 20 minutes from the Cottage.
Le Parc des Oiseaux
This is the must of our region: one of the most beautiful ornithological reserves in France, located in the middle of the Dombes plateau whose many ponds are a sanctuary for migratory birds and local ones.
Le Parc des Oiseaux is a delight for children and adults. Our advice: plan the full day !
Tourism and Heritage
Lyon is only 30 km away, Villefranche-sur-Saône 10 minutes away, and a little further you can visit the medieval
city of Pérouges, one of the most beautiful villages in France.
Our cottage is also an ideal base to visit the heritage of the Lyon region and the beautiful terroirs of Ain, or to make a cultural break at the gates of southern France.
. . . bike rides
The paradise for bike riding is just around the gite : have a ride on the romantic banks of the river Saone with splendid views over the Beaujolais and Bugey hills and mountains, along the old towpaths or through countless byways. Away from the traffic, your eyes will thank you ! The Grange de la Batone is located on the route of the ''Voie Bleue'' Moselle-Saône, it is an ideal stopover!
